Bio
Shirronda began studying yoga 20 years ago. At the time she was a member of the American Tribal Style Bellydance dance troupe OmbellyCo and working for a local non-profit organization. Yoga helped to reconnect after work by using the breath to go inward, forging a mind body connection . In 2011, she become certified as a teacher. Then became attuned in Reiki level 1, Usui lineage. The following year she was attuned in Reiki Level 2 and later began volunteering in Brigham and Women’s Hospital Volunteer reiki program. In 2020 she became a Reiki Master.
She offered weekly work place yoga classes for the NonProfit Center for several years starting in 2012. In 2015 she began the Community Yoga class at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Jamaica Plain. Her classes are influenced by Hatha, Vinyasa, restorative, and Yin yoga. Her specialty is transforming community and nonprofit workspaces into a welcoming oasis for mind body connection through movement, breathe and a dash of humor.
She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
